本データベースは，仮名字書『和翰名苑』の字形を「字体」ごとに整理し，検索できるようにしたものである。検索する際は，上記フォームに検索する値を指定して検索する。複数入力されたばあい，字形群・字源・節の順に優先される。
すべての項目において正規表現が使用できるが，“*”を入れたばあい，ワイルドカードとして働く（内部的には“.+”として扱う）。“*”と入れればすべての結果が返り，字形群に，たとえば“い*”と打てば，「い」の字形群がすべて表示される。
『和翰名苑』仮名字体データベースは，仮名字書，滕孔栄『和翰名苑』(1765)の構造を可視化したものである。『和翰名苑』では，編者の字体意識を反映した字形の類聚が見られ，それを構造として示すことによって，『和翰名苑』における字体意識を可視化することができるものと考えられる。→解説

This is a database of Hiragana instances grouped by graphemes of a kana compendium, Wakan Meien. Queries are considered in the order of groups, associated Chinese character, and sections, the last.
All fields accept regular expression. However, ‘*’ will be treated as a wildcard character, that is, matches all possible characters (internally works as regular expression ‘.+’). In case only ‘*’ is given, it will match all cases. Accordingly, ‘い*’ for groups will match all groups begin with ‘い’.
The Wakan Meien hiragana grapheme database visualises the organisation of a compendium of hiragana, Wakan Meien, published in 1765 by a Japanese caligrapher Tō Kōei (date of birth unknown). This compendium organises instances into groups in the way that appears to reflect the compiler’s awareness of graphemes: this database aims to present that awareness by visualising these groups. » Introduction
